[Feature Request] New Command -> Cycle Through Hover Notes
Hello @nothingislost !!!!!
I have been using Hover Editor a lot and as far as I use this amazing plugin on my daily workflows I realize that we need a new command.
My FR: It's a command to navigate between Hover Notes that are open in the workspace.
- Cycle Through Panes plugin applied to Hover Notes !!!
Two global user cases
1- When You have more than one Hover Note open (1 open and 4 minimized) and you want to navigate between than to minimize the 1 that is open and restore one of the 4 that are minimized
2- A quick way to just make the Hover note the note that is active in the workspace when you have a lot of notes open.
- I am aware that the Cycle Through Panes is considering Hover Notes while we are navigating between notes. But if you have 5/6 notes open, it's difficult tp go to the hover note.
My Specific Workflow
I always have at least two Hover Notes always open in my workspace:
A. My QuickNotes Hover Note
B. Hover Note specific to the workflow that I'm doing
-> For example, if I'm working in a Podcast Note, I have a Hover Note that has the URL audio of Podcast. This way I can listen while working on that note.
I really need a way to quickly navigate between these hover notes to restore/minimize based on my need
Thanks for reading this !!!!! I hope you like my suggestion 🙏 🙏 🙏
Let me know if you need more information !!!
Have a great day 🌞
If you use the Pane Relief plugin, you can use Alt-9 to jump to the last pane in the workspace, which will always be the most-recently opened hover pane. If you have 9 or fewer total panes open, you can also use Alt-8 to go to the eighth, Alt-7 to go to the seventh, and so on.

Thank you very much for your comment @pjeby !
I saw your message and went direct to the computer to replicate the workflow described in your comment.
This FR has two points that makes a little bit different form what we can achieve using the spectacular Pane Relief
Point 1: Navigation between only all Hover Notes
For example: I have this structure in my workspace:
- 03 notes open in the workspace (which one of the 3 is the active note)
- 02 Hover Notes open (which one of the 2 is minimized)
This FR is about a new command that let me navigate/jump only between these two hover notes and the criteria is to start from the last active hover note.
- A single command (hotkey) to jump between all hover notes instead of one command for each open hover note.
Following my example: these new command will jump from to active note to the last hover note
- If I hit the hotkey one more time, it will make the other hover note active and keep it minimized !!!
Point 2: Support for Mobile
Hover Editor is available on Desktop and Mobile.
For users that uses Obsidian on iPad with a mouse and a keyboard, would be great to have a way replicate the same workflow that you have on Desktop in a Mobile device like an iPad or any Tablet.
Thanks again for your suggestion about Pane Relief :)
