bug: transaction not release

I'm not a maintainer here, but I'd sure like to understand this issue better. I just discovered an issue where the pinger is not stopped on the close of the Gateway, so I'm interested in learning about other issues too. If you are interested, have time @newzai please show me the lines of code. I think it's great you shared the problem here, thank you for writing about it. I will file an issue/pr about the ping issue soon.
