8BitDo Controller U/D/L/R not recognized.

Open LordPinkerton opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Currently using standalone non-libretro r22 build on RetroPie 4.4, using SCPH1001. The problem is I am unable to map my directional keys to my controller. I am using a 8BitDo N30 Pro 2 via bluetooth. The mapper does not recognize the D-pad at all and all the directions of the left thumbstick come out as X00.

I’m having the same issue on RetroPie 4.4 for my Pi 0 W, using both an 8BitDo SN30 Pro and a RetroFlag gPi Case.

Any solution to this?, any triggers/sliders are also ignored when mapping inputs

I’m having the same issue on RetroPie 4.4 for my Pi 0 W, using both an 8BitDo SN30 Pro and a RetroFlag gPi Case.

As for the GPi case the solution is this: Switch to Joystick/Axis mode. You've probably noticed that controls won't work UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to fix this, thanks to u/RescueGamer who contacted RETROFLAG, you can press and hold:

  • "SELECT + D-PAD UP" for 5 seconds to enable D-PAD input mode
  • "SELECT + D-PAD LEFT" for 5 seconds to enable Joystick/Axis input mode (YOU NEED THIS ONE!) you'll notice the top LED blinking briefly VIOLET and then back to RED. This should do the trick and let you configure the binding to the gpi case correctly or directly using the emulator. Rember to switch back to D-Pad mode (Select+UP) if you want to return to the "normal" setting, otherwise you're stuck in the psx menu.

Same issue here - RetroPie Pi 3+B, D-DAP inputs don't work when mapping and instead reads as \x00
