Add support for cover art

Cover can be read from a web server as per:

Hi, what is the state of cover art support? The basically only thing I am missing is the possibility to put an jpg/png/... into the album folder and this being used as cover art automatically, no fancy web retrieval whatsoever... As far as I can see mpd does not support custom cover images? How hard will it be to add such support to ympd?
