Preserve the Panel widths when switching Zen mode

Open pkd2989 opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Hi. When switching back and forth from zen mode, the width/adjusted-position of the side panels are changed to the default. It will be nice if Panel states can be maintained while switching zen mode

Thanks, Have a nice day.

It might be nice yeah 🤔 I should think about that. It's a bit tricky because the various sections don't have an absolute width set, but only a relative one, but in zen mode there's nothing to relate them to.

Sorry, I am not sure if I conveyed that correctly. I meant the width of the Panels in normal mode gets reset to default, when I am switching back from Zen mode. I think the user made preferences for other things like are "tabs", "palette->recents" etc., already being stored in settings.json, So can't we just store the relative positions of Panels when entering the Zen mode and restore them on switching back.

Thanks.

Oh I see, that got fixed in the betas: https://github.com/notable/notable-insiders/releases/tag/v1.9.0-beta.10

Really? I'll give it another look 🤔

Just to be clear what I meant. These are the panel positions in normal mode. image

  • I go to zen mode and come back, now these are the panel positions.
