Additional context It is the first time I'm using this script (I'm studying qemu) and that happened like 3 or 4 times using just the recovery. So to speed up; I used my MacBook to flash a USB installer, copy the image and I'm using the image in this recorded session. The bug is the same, it is just happening faster as the installation media is already downloaded.

You accidentally formatted the disk as APFS instead of macOS extended journaled

notAperson535 avatar Oct 31 '23 22:10 notAperson535

@notAperson535 that was a really dumb thing on my end

I just tried using macOS Extended Journaled and I got the same error

@ademar111190 does trying to install sonoma also create this error?

notAperson535 avatar Nov 01 '23 13:11 notAperson535

@notAperson535 I'll download Sonoma and try it

ademar111190 avatar Nov 01 '23 13:11 ademar111190

@notAperson535 I had tried with Sonoma and got the same error. I've tried with Monterey as well; same thing.

ademar111190 avatar Nov 01 '23 22:11 ademar111190

I don't know if it's related, but I received the message "An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again." with no explanation as to what the error was, and then when I click "OK" it goes back to the recovery/install options. Then I tried again and had the same error. I can create a new issue for this if it's needed.

Razzaline avatar Nov 17 '23 11:11 Razzaline

Okay, my issue was probably separate. I worked around it by installing Monterey instead of Sonoma, but I'll post it in its own issue.

@ademar111190 could you provide more info about the host and vms specs like ram and cpu?

notAperson535 avatar Nov 21 '23 13:11 notAperson535

@notAperson535 the host and distrobox info are added to the System report & neofetch section; what information else do you want? I didn't use vms
