Exiting list mode is a difficult user experience

It is fairly unintuitive to end a list of items.

Current behavior: You must click the list button or use the keyboard command to exit list mode.

Possible better behavior: Like Google Drive and other document editors, if you click enter on an empty list item, it will end the list mode.
