Selecting text with mouse or cmd+arrow keys should switch to visual mode
As right now, it's a little confusing if you make a selection outside of XSVim and things don't work.
Hi Jason, I have been using your Vim plugin on VS2017 for the Mac. Thanks and really appreciate the speed of the fixes.
Question: I recently found out I have to use VS 2017 on a PC. Do you know of a VIM extension for the free version of VS on the PC? I think they now called it Visual Studio Community 2017? I have not confirmed this, but it seems, unlike the Mac version, MS does not allow 3rd party extensions to be installed on the VSC (which maybe previously was VS Express? Im still gather ing info).
Hoping this a is temporary thing for me, and I can get back to the Mac version quickly. -Jay
Hi @BentChainRing - You should definitely try out VsVim. I haven't tried, but I'm pretty sure that Extensions are now allowed in Visual Studio Community for Windows.
I vote No on this.
I pair with many people who don’t know VIM. I tell them “Just press i”, and they are back to what they know.
@shirshov: Vim supports mouse selections :)
I definitely vote Yes.
In all other of the Vim implementations I use (VsVim, MonoDevelop Vi Mode, vim itself...), I will frequently select something with my mouse, and then hit X to delete the selection and pull it into the clipboard.
In XSVim, when I select something with my mouse and then hit X, it only deletes and pulls the one character under the cursor.
@ssameng I'll take another look at this. I almost had it working.
Thanks for taking a look--wondering what the status is on this?
I look through the release notes every time XSVim is updated to check if this is fixed :P
@ssameng I'll try and get to it soon.. I don't think it's much work. It's just that other things have priority right now such as VSMac 8.1 support... and then support for the new editor.
..... and I get precious little spare time to work on this :)
