Can't install (Arch Linux)

Open ToaBollua opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

I tried to install it using an AUR package helper and using makepkg -si for the cloned AUR repo. None worked. (Some of the warnings are in spanish btw)

When trying to install using AUR helper it says it needs some sort of manual intervention.

Installing with makepkg -si

Output:

Installing with an AUR helper (I'm using yay for this specific output)

I have the same issue. Tried installing go-whatsapp but that threw the same exit status 4. I'm guessing this was built on top of that and go-whatsapp is causing the issue. Still haven't found anything.

Same here, I tired to install with brew as well as AUR but it throws the same error

I installed it by compiling the source; here is a little how to:

  1. make a directory where you want to install whatscli. for me that was mkdir ~/WhatsApp
  2. cd into directory (cd ~/WhatsApp)
  3. clone the git repo into directory: git clone github.com/normen/whatscli. this downloads all the latest source code.
  4. if you don't have the go compiler installed, install it with sudo pacman -S go
  5. cd into the cloned repo. for me that would look like cd ~/WhatsApp/whatscli and run go build
  6. the program is now built and can be run with ./whatscli while in the whatscli directory
  7. then add to PATH or to shell alias. for bash that looks like adding alias whatscli=~/go/bin/whatscli
  8. not it should run from anywhere with whatscli
