hm, no idea, did you try the other apparently compatible types? Otherwise, if it says it receives the switch signal it probably does receive it, maybe the remote is sending...
Hm, idk, did you check with the pilight project if theres any similar issues for other people? I can't really help as my switches work both with pilight and rcswitch..

Actually I am about to deprecate the project as I personally moved to using FHEM with a SignalDuino (which can be created with the esp/cc1101 hardware combination used for this...

As I said in the other thread you posted in, get the Open Source MiLight Hub: https://github.com/sidoh/esp8266_milight_hub It works MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the crappy MiLight boxes. And "building"...
