to confirm / clarify: should be be forcing the name, or just setting it on activation and allow folks to remove it if they want to?

yeah, folders would be a good analogy. looking at some GIF aggregation sites I see they have grouping that is more general than keywords. I think it would be useful...
would a spinner with some opacity overlayed suffice?
FYI I think Compass has the animation / keyframe stuff built in but I don't know the syntax
is the actual spin jerky or the fade in / out?
hmmm. we can look at a pure CSS spinner if need be (seen some tuts online) should help in that regard
