No, It isnt supposed to work like that lmao. i just tried downloading a video(as it's been a while i downloaded a reddit video) and the audio wasnt there. that's actually surprising because the audio's were always there!! :/

i'll look into this issue soon. hopefully there'll be something i can do to resolve this.

Hiii @webgtx, I'm sorry for stalling this long to resolve this. :(

Usually, Reddit serves the video and audio tracks separately and there used to be a way i could retrieve the audio by modifying the video url

for example, i could get the audio of this video (https://v.redd.it/2nboabex3d3c1/DASH_720.mp4) by simply replacing DASH_720 with DASH_audio i.e. https://v.redd.it/2nboabex3d3c1/DASH_audio.mp4 and then merge both the audio and video with ffmpeg.

but for some reason idk, that isnt possible now.

I've implemented a solution using DASH playlists. You can now use the --dash flag to download videos along with their audio. For example:

reddit-dl --url <reddit_video_url> --dash

So in the end I'm getting audio file with video file separately?
