Although I don't have as much negativity towards chatgpt's UI, I think the gpt4all should have a unique UI to distinguish it

Agree, the skin isn't the most liked - its synonymous with price gouging for me and gatekeeping, not to mention censorship via language model fine tuning. Multi modalities, agents and curating their activities and goals requires a more robust ui and redesign.

I've never seen a single complaint about chatGPT's ui aside from this post. It looks very good imo

I think the UI should change because it is an attempt to deceive the user into thinking that it is using chatGPT while it is not.

Even the name GPT4all is a problem.
