Different UI for DMs

I saw this suggested in a talk at the last ActivityPub conference, but it would be neat if the DM UI had a UI more like email, with a field for who you're sending the message to, and a field for the message itself. Benefits:

• more like other IM UIs
• makes it clear who will see the message and who won't
• under the hood, we can transform any mentions in the message body to a URL that won't notify that user (!)

Maybe a little off-topic here, but ... it would be neat if the normal posting UI had a UI more like email, with a field for who you're sending the message to, and a field for the message itself. Especially if that meant addresses weren't counted in your char limit.
