💬 · Translation Updates
Hi translators!
Thank you for translating Resources into your language and making it more accessible to more people!
Until I get something like Weblate set up, I will use this issue to inform/warn about updates to resources.pot.
If you'd like to get notified when an update to resources.pot happens, feel free to change the notification settings for this issue in the right sidebar.
Cheers! :)
Addition The tooltips and accessibility hints have been made translatable. :)
Is there a planned release date for the next version containing this fix?

Nope, I haven't yet planned the next release.
Hey translators! I plan to release Resources 1.6 on August 16 at the earliest. Until then a few new translatable strings may be introduced but I don't think it'll be too many. :) Recent commits to Resources have mostly been internal changes, though I plan to introduce support for NPUs (if relevant drivers expose statistics) and changing CPU affinity and priority for prcesses for 1.6.
Addition: Resources can now manipulate processes' priority and CPU affinity, so there are new strings for that.
Sort of breakage: I've introduced contexts for UI refresh speed texts and process priority texts (for more info see #319), I believe you'll have to reenter the strings for UI refresh speed
Also I don't think I'll release 1.6 at August 16, I'm aiming for August 23 to give you some more time. I'm also planning not to introduce any new strings until the release. :)
Additions: The screenshots in Resources' appstream metainfo file now have captions, which are translatable. Also, in the app's description, I've included "Batteries" as a bullet point of what kind of devices Resources can monitor.
Small change: The window title (top of the sidebar) is now translatable. You don't have to do anything though since the string "Resources" has been in the pot file before.
Addition: I've forgotten to make the "Apply" string in the process options window translatable, thanks to @Alexmelman88 (#343), this has been fixed. :)
Hi, it's been a while! I've merged support for NPUs as well as selecting multiple processes in the Processes view. This has introduced a couple of new strings. :) I plan to release Resources 1.7 no earlier than 29 November. I don't think that new string will be introduced until then. After the release of 1.7, I'll look into adding Resources into GNOME's translation system.
Hi translators! There's a new string: "Link" (representing e.g. a PCIe link speed). I haven't yet come around to applying for GNOME Damned Lies for translations. I plan to release Resources 1.8 no earlier than GNOME 48, which is set to release on March 19. Until then, I plan to include at least two new strings, but I'll give my best to introduce them as soon as possible. Thank you. :)
One of those two new strings have been introduced: "Link Speed" for network link speeds
Hi everyone, the last string for 1.8 has been merged: "Combined Memory". It's a column in the Apps and Processes views and refers to the memory usage of both normal memory and swap combined.

Maybe it would be better to call it "Total memory" ?

I thought about that too, but I think "Combined" makes it a bit more clear that it's consisting out of two values. :)
Hey translators, rather big announcement! :) I've finally applied Resources to be part of GNOME Damned Lies: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/damned-lies/-/issues/651 This means that as soon as the application has been accepted, I cannot accept translation PRs any longer as every translation update needs to go through GNOME Damned Lies. You can create an account for Damned Lies continue helping, if you want of course.
Thanks a lot to all the many translators for making Resources accessible to so many more people! I didn't expect so many people from all over the world to volunteer translating Resources to other languages, I really appreciate it. :)
Update: Resources has been fully accepted into GNOME Damned Lies, meaning from this point onward, I can no longer accept translations PRs as they must go through GNOME Damned Lies. Current translations will also be reviewed by contributors of GNOME Damned Lies. Thank you. :)
