Error:Set ESP8266 Address timeout.

have a nodemcu board from china... and seems that i am stuck....

when i run a upload with the tool and for the INTERNAL://NODEMCU at 0x00000, all i get on the log is the following:

  Note:Detect serial port changed.
  Note:Auto MAP serial port.Port-->COM6
  
  Note:Serial port connected.
  Note:Begin find ESP8266.
  Note:ESP8266 ACK success.
  Note:ESP8266 ACK success.
  Error:Set ESP8266 Address timeout.

also tried loading blink sketch through arduino ide... esptool.py v3.0 Serial port COM6 Connecting.... Chip is ESP8266EX Features: WiFi Crystal is 26MHz MAC: ec:fa:bc:27:cc:12 Uploading stub... Running stub... Stub running... Configuring flash size... Traceback (most recent call last):

Any ideas... is if something to do with flash size? or have i got something completely wrong?
