Node User Feedback at Meetups
Format
- 40 minutes total consisting of:
- 20 minute talk - perhaps about new releases and give meetup organizers a ppt that they can give and/or a list of local contributors
- 20 minutes user feedback conversation and collection
Goal
- Open up issues while screensharing so they get into regular channels and tag the person (if so)
- Explain what main contributors do
- Tell people that they are free to open issue as well during the thing
- Show people we are open to getting feedback
- Show people how to contribute to the community and give feedback
- Reinforce current feedback channels
- Make people aware of all the different groups by explaining what they do and how to join
What are our KPIs of success
- We are opening the pipelines of contributions to the standard channels we already have
What is the frequency of this?
- Twice a year after the test?

Can the meet-ups be extended to other location?
@codeekage you mean can you host one? because if so then yes! :)
Oh cool. An email brief will be lovely. π π
I'm thinking about calling this meetup edition a Node.js Town Hall, folks. How does that jive with the Node.js vibe? :)
Timur Shemsedinov from these two groups is interested as well.

I don't quite follow the "How to Article". I expected a how to in terms of integrating a user-feedback session into your meetup but 80% seems to be about what meetups are?
@mhdawson whoops! that was the wrong link. updated. https://docs.google.com/document/d/129syiwgsn_doJ2TD9zRqjSRN8qZEW9xj0xwPcEXGaSc/edit
@ladyleet thanks that makes a lot more sense :). Left a few comments/suggestions.
The user-feedback through meetups initiative could have both an in-person and online component.
#61 in website-redesign surfaced the need for feedback on docs. A survey is now available which could be used and iterated on to gather ongoing feedback.
Just to mention, this is one of the reason for CommComm Collaboration with Meetups like NodeSchool. https://github.com/nodejs/community-committee/issues/280
Hi all! π
I'm super excited to make the user feedback session in Portland happen (via pdxnode.org) in June! π
Here's the issue: https://github.com/nodejs/user-feedback/issues/151
Stoked to do this with y'all! πππ
Would love to make the first User Feedback session in Vancouver happen on the 7th of May. Would be super to have any resources that are ready to use!
The Slides seem to be in progress but the How To is already very helpful ππ½ββοΈ
