AppBarTextField weird behavior

When deleting in an AppBarTextField, the existing characters get replaced by text that was there at some former point in time.

Steps to reproduce: ??? TODO

AppBarTextField has been removed and replaced with TextField. The problem persists, indicating that this is an upstream bug with compose itself.
