Scroll doesn't work well [bug]

Open Californium251 opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Description

Scroll works with some kind of freezes. I made a screen record to demonstrate it: https://capture.dropbox.com/4aTUfu9Eh5l1s3OU?autoPreview=1

All over the video I'm rolling the wheel quite fast. But the scroll is not getting faster or go with the same speed. Instead it's getting faster but then getting slower, then faster and slower again. It looks like the scroll is skidding or something like that.

I'm using Xiaomi Silent Mouse with Macbook Prp m2 14.2"

Steps to reproduce

Context

Mac Mouse Fix Version: 3.0.1 macOS Version: 14.0 (23A344) Mouse Model: Xiaomi Mi Mouse (Silent edition)

I can confirm that there is something weird with scrolling on version 3.0.1. It's somehow slowed down. In version 3.0.0 everything was fluid and fast, now scrolling is very slow and feels laggy with same settings.

Hi there @Californium251, thanks for your feedback!

Does the behaviour change if you turn off Pro Motion in System Settings, and instead set the screen refresh rate to 60 Hertz?

@kecinzer, thanks for chiming in! Are you seeing the same behaviour with the inconsistent speed and skidding? Or just stuttering / low refresh rates?

It seems like there was changes scrolling speed globally. I can't say it's shuttering, just slowed down. I'm now back to version 3.0.0 that suits me perfectly.

Hey there @kecinzer, the issues with the scrolling speed should be addressed in the latest 3.0.2 release.

As for the issues that @Californium251 was experiencing, my feeling is that it has to do with the pro motion display, but I'm not sure.
