Capture more buttons [Version 3 enhancement]

Open khesed opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Description

Using the Logitech Onboard Memory Manager (OMM), I bound button 6 to "Play / Pause". Sometimes, in the "Buttons" tab of MMF, when I press button 6, it is captured:

I can then successfully use that button for gestures. Unfortunately, sometimes it stops being able to capture and it returns to the normal binding of "Play / Pause".

Steps to reproduce

I cannot consistently reproduce capturing Button 6, but when the app is first launched (and for an indeterminate time after) button 6 is not captured (and the normal binding of "Play / Pause" is performed). Below is a photo of the OMM and the options for binding:

This also occurs with other bindings like "Cycle DPI", "Mute", and pressing the "Stop" button as a keybind on a keyboard.

Context

Mac Mouse Fix Version: 3.0.0 Beta 6 macOS Version: Sonoma Mouse Model: Logitech G703

Figured it out. BetterMouse has an option to disable "On Board" profiles on the mouse and then capture the mouse's extra buttons. Even after quitting the app, MacMouseFix can still capture the buttons, but when the mouse is powered off and back on again, it goes back to the On Board profile (where button 6 is Play/Pause).

If this behavior (of stealing Button 6 and overriding the On Board profile) could be implemented natively instead of having to install an alternative application, that would be awesome! Changing this to an enhancement request instead of bug.

How do you use Logitech Onboard Memory Manager (OMM) on the Mac?
