New Icons [enhancement]
Hi folks, I've made two new icons. If you like it, feel free to use it.
Rationale → Make the icon a bit cleaner.

PNG + ICNS: MacMouseFix.zip
Hey @Zabriskije, thanks so much! I really like the icons. They look great.
I'm not sure I want to adopt them, but kudos man, they're very good.
As for why I don't want to adopt them, I'm not entirely sure. It certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.
But here are some reasons:
- I am personally quite attached to the existing icons. I know this is not a good reason but I AM THE ARBITER OF TEH MOUSE FIX
- Currently, the 'real' MMF icon is really just the circle without the white rectangle in the background. On the website and everywhere else we just display the circle. Only for the App Icon, that circle is put onto the white rectangle background. For those other contexts outside the app icon, I think your icons might be a little less recognizable than the current circle. But I'd really have to test that. On the other hand, the app icon is really by far the most prominent version of the icon, and for that, your contributions definitely look a lot cleaner, and I'm sure they would work very well.
- I just made a menu bar icon (hint hint) with the circle design and I'd have to redo that which is annoying.
Overall I'm sure your icons would probably work great. But I'm not entirely sure they'd be better and I don't want to spend time right now to test them properly and transition over.
But thanks again! I was really excited to see you put effort and talent into you contribution to MMF!!
Clear and valid points, I respect that. Thank you too for making me learn a new word (hint hint) 🤓
Hey thanks! I just tested your new icon. I do think it works well especially on the dark background, but I think the current version is really good, too.

I think I'll stick with using the circle as the main branding for now but I might come back to your work as I do see the benefits especially in how it cleans up the main app icon.
Let me know if you have anymore thoughts or creative input!
― Without the outer circle?
The black version of mine looks a bit chubby, maybe it's just a color-related perception trick? In any case, I've added it below with the circle one. MMF.zip
Thanks for that! Yeah it's weird how much thinner the black lines look. I have no idea why that is.
I added the outer ring because it creates this illusion of a dark ring between the outer ring and the inner circle. I thought that made it look more recognizable and like the original icon.
I'm not sure if it's weird. Maybe I just fell in love with the idea because I felt smart coming up with it. I'll try to reconsider objectively at some point.
Anyway what do you think about the outer circle?
Sorry for replying so late. I don't like outer circles in general, and I thought about it but can't find out exactly why. Maybe It's just because the cleaner the better, or that it draws a bit more attention and I find it "distracting". When used as a logo (e.g., website) looks less anonymous with the outer circle tough, it also gives it a bit more pop.
