Is snack production ready for early adopters?

Seems like the activity here has calmed down. I guess this is because people aren't finding as many issues with snack anymore; the low-hanging fruit has been found and most common use-cases are handled.

Would you say snack is ready enough for production use by early adopters?

Good question.

The activity has indeed calmed down, due to two factors:

1. I’ve had very little time to work on snack
2. I ran into some pretty big maintainability problem because (1) most of the library is written in Nix, which is not really meant for these kind workflows and (2) I got lots papercuts from GHC’s UX which has depressed me tremendously

That being said, it’s definitely a viable alternative for small, non mission-critical projects. There are some issues with bigger projects, as described in https://github.com/nmattia/snack/issues/79.

However, snack is not going to progress if no one is using it, so I’d say if you are ready to debug hairy Nix code, and if you don’t have too much of a time constraint, it’s definitely a viable option for some definition of “production” ;)
