Nitroshare vs Samba

Hi,

Can you tell me the difference between those two?

Thanks

Samba provides other devices in the network with access to specific directories on the host named "shares". These shares can be publicly accessible or accessible only to specific users.

NitroShare provides the host with the ability to send and receive transfers from other devices on the network. There is no authentication enabled by default but TLS certificates can be used for this purpose.

NitroShare is typically easier to configure than Samba, since the only requirement is the installation of a single package. In my own testing, I have found NitroShare to be significantly faster than Samba, easily achieving full gigabit speeds on capable hardware. One other benefit is that NitroShare supports resuming failed transfers.

@nathan-osman is it possible to implement an option to create a shared folder so other workstations running nitroshare could download and send files? This would be a "samba killer" feature!

I will consider adding this feature in a future version, but it is not going to be included in the very next upcoming release, due to time constraints.

Some diagrams would be nice.

Really never expected such smooth performance similar to samba. Great work !!

But, I had to install on both Android & windows in order to make it work. Is it possible to work with existing samba in Windows and Nitroshare on Android ?
