Manually transferring a file results in "Failed: s == null" on Android app

When on PC dragging a file to my sharing directory does not automatically start a transfer. However, manually starting a transfer does not work either.

1. Open the NitroShare.exe application and clicking "Send Files"

2. Select a file to transfer

3. NitroShare.exe application is stuck on status "In Progress" even though the progress bar is at 100%, the Action column says "Cancel" which cannot be cancelled, and the Android app says "[unknown] Failed: s == null".

Thank you for developing nitroshare. The concept seems nice. But I have the problem here when sending with 64bit windows exe on windows 7 to android. A message is displayed: Transfer with &1 faild. It works the other way around!

I am getting the same "s == null" error when trying to transfer files from my desktop to my phone. I have no problems transferring from phone to desktop. Happy to help if I can provide logs etc...

I have the same issue. Its just when i try to transfer from my pc (w7 ultimate) to android 5.1. I can transfer from my android to my pc without any trouble. I try changing the transfer port and nothing change.

Sorry everyone, I have been out of town for quite some time and haven't had a chance to look at this issue until now. I'll take a closer look at the s==null error message on the Android side since I have a suspicion that the root of the problem lies there.

If you have another PC, are you able to use NitroShare to transfer the same large file without issue?

Hi, only the transfer from Win10 to Android runs perfect. But not vice versa. The same from Tablet to Mobile(Android) and vice versa i also get the Null error. Do i have to make some settings in Android?

Same behaviour for 32bit windows.exe and Windows7. No transfer from Windows7 to Android (7.1.1) At Android app I got the error "failed:null". At Windows PC I got the error "transfer with &1 failed". Sending files from Android to Windows7 works. Sending files from Window7 to another Windows7 PC works.

Maybe the issue is related to write access of Android. The default transfer directory /storage/emulated/0/Download/NitroShare was not present. I created this directory manually, but still not working. Same for selecting other directories. Changing the transfer directory to .. (one level up) is not possible. Error is "unable to read /storage/emulated/0/..."

Hello, now it works. I received files from Windows7. thx But change of transfer directory (change to SD Card or so) is still not possible. Same error if go one level up "unable to read /storage/emulated/0/..."
