Perceived idea awesomeness

  • [ ] Wow, you don't have this yet?
  • [x] Would be super cool/nice to have.
  • [ ] I'm not sure a lot of people would use it, but I'd love to have it.

Perceived idea difficulty

  • [ ] Quit your job first.
  • [ ] Would need some work, but nothing impossible.
  • [x] Shouldn't be too hard to make.
  • [ ] Like, I could do it.

If developer support auth via facebook It useful to implement deletion instructions for user data: for example

<NAME> app uses the Facebook login and we do not save your personal data in our server. As per Facebook policy, we have to provide User Data Deletion Callback URL or Data Deletion Instructions URL.

If you want to delete your activities for <NAME> app, you can remove your information by following these steps:

Go to your Facebook Account's Setting & Privacy. Click Settings. Look for Apps and Websites and you will see all of the apps and websites you linked with your Facebook. Search and click <NAME> in the search bar. Scroll and click Remove. Congratulations, you have successfully removed your app activities.

Can you explain how do you envision addition of this feature to the web app. I don't quite understand the feature, I understand what you want to put in place.

Is the expectation when someone selects Facebook as 3rd party option, then a blob of text about deletion gets added to the Privacy Policy?

Yeah, if developer could mentioned what data he collect, so it could be optional section of how user can remove collected data (with predefined example wich I mentioned above)

Can you share an existing Privacy Policy that does that? I have never seen this before and I cannot just add this because a Privacy Policy is a legal document/declaration.

FYI, I had the data deletion on a dedicated page, with a link from the privacy policy page, and Facebook asked me to merge the two pages...

Most Privacy Policies would require a "Delete Your Personal Data" section to inform users how their personal data can be deleted. This particular section can be used to list the exact steps the user needs to take in order to have their data deleted, or contact the owner to have the data deleted etc.

If applicable, the section should inform users that certain data may not be deleted if the owner has a legal basis / legal obligation to keep a copy of the data.

An example can be found below. The information below should be used as a guide and modified to meet your own individual needs and the laws of your state/country.

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.

Our Service may give You the ability to delete certain information about You from within the Service.

You may update, amend, or delete Your information at any time by signing in to Your Account, if you have one, and visiting the account settings section that allows you to manage Your personal information. You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that You have provided to Us.

Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.
