Save BOLD derived brain mask in surface space
Use nearest neighbours interpolation and gifti file format. This should be available for the fsnative and fsaverage.
So looked at this again. To be clear, you're suggesting a surface where a vertex is 1 if it's in the bold_space-t1w_brainmask.nii.gz, and 0 if not? I guess these ought to be label.giis?

In the lights of the derivatives survey and after more than a year open, is this still something to be implemented?

By closing this issue you might give an impression that you do not want such functionality in the package. Why not having such feature requests open, but tagged with low priority or help needed?
