using the vulkan backend causes a crash on steam deck vulkan as a renderer does work based on other things ive used im not using steamos i am using windows

kinda disapointing cause steam deck could use the performance boost since it struggles to maintain 60fps with hd project

The Steam Deck already has the exact same thing we use to translate DX9 to Vulkan: DXVK. If you disable our Vulkan renderer in this case, the Steam Deck's one will be used automatically. Still, it shouldn't be crashing, but sadly I don't have a Deck myself. Can you upload a crash log here?

That doesn't apply if you're using Windows, no. That said, you really shouldn't be using Windows on the Deck.

Anyway, please upload a CrashDump.

if the problem is crashing/loading related you can try creating a CrashDumps folder inside the Bin32 directory (next to bio4.exe/steam_api.dll/etc), then the next time game crashes hopefully some info about it will be written in there, please include that with any reports you make!

there was too many drawbacks to using steam os for most of the stuff i do. ive vastly preffered my windows experience. so far re4 is the only game ive found with worse performance on windows. anyway yea didnt realize u needed bio4.exe.20230323150228.zip to extra things to get a crash dump
