Why is the closure compiler commented out for the time being?

I also did a small comment on https://github.com/ninjadev/nin/commit/e934b92da724cd85a4c87f5d2de47e5ece80d2e2 , and the question here is what are you guys doing and how can I track it? There's no issues or discussions on what has been done I believe, so it's hard for me to contribute right now.
