@nilsteampassnet could this be linked to my issue in #4883? Is there a way to see more about what is going on?

@nilsteampassnet @guerricv Hi Gents, I still believe that this whole problem with tasks freezing started when I created an account several times and quickly deleted it. Perhaps Teampass itself was unable to complete the tasks it had started. That's why all these problems began.

Hello @nantartudo,

To me it sounds like scripts have not enough time to complete.

  • Have you checked you settings in apache and fpm-php (if enabled)
  • Your "Duration in seconds allowed for the script to run in background" can be setup on a higher duration (on my side, I have set it up around 3600s).
  • Also, please check your cronjob, it shouldn't stay on a delayed status.

Hello @guerricv ,

1 settings are correct and set to 3600s. 2 there was issue with crond. i have changed crond now it works fine. but i have still have same problem. in background_tasks_logs it shows that teampass still run something and couldnt complete it.

What was the issue with crond and what was the fix?

Do you mean the user can now view the passwords?

In the background_tasks_logs table I think the ongoing job is referring to the "Items and folders statistics" job which runs every 5 minutes (or at least that what it seems to be in my case).

Hello, @DaveWebb2

nothing resolved yet. i have two teampass dev servers. 1 is old still in prod as we have problem with new one. in old one there is no ongoing process in background-tasks-logs. but in the new one it still running. 3.1.4.31

For me, in version 3.1.5.12 the 'sharekey not generated' message went away pretty quickly, and the user just sees "Item has no password" for every password. I can also see in the users table that the user_derivation_seed column is empty, as it the is_ready_for_usage column. Also, the special column is set to generate-keys so it's clearly not doing that part for some reason.

@nilsteampassnet are you able to help with this please? Is there a way we can manually force this to run and see logs? I'm not seeing anything in the Apache error.log file other than "SSL Library Error: error:0A000126:SSL routines::unexpected eof while reading"

I may need to move away from TeamPass to something like Keeper if I can't get this working - 2 months with a broken password manager has already been quite a pain to deal with.
