I wanted to create the same issue, then did find this one and did read it's already possible, looked for it and it took quite a while until I realized " JSON" does download JSON on left click but creates a perma link for the waypoints & profile when doing a right click and copy link address. => What do you think of adding a share icon for the permalink, just left of download icon? IMHO, that will be found by much more users, and also much quicker. Not much space needed, icon with title text but no link text shall be enough, this title text is shown on mouse over and can be read by screenreaders.
