Browsing broken on Android 14

When Tablet Mode is enabled in settings (which is the default), as of Android 14 this "split screen" mode shows up:

Once any article is opened, reloading this view stops working unless you navigate back up from a category/Fresh Articles.

If Tablet Mode is explicitly disabled, split screen disappears (and the app looks like it did on A13 and earlier), but you can no longer navigate to categories/Fresh Articles.
