How to add css filter to image being rendered by html2canvas?

I have a css filter applied to an element on my webpage, the same element that I want to render with html2canvas. On the html2canvas features page (http://html2canvas.hertzen.com/features), it says that filter is one of the few css properties that is not supported. Is there a workaround for this?
