Describe the bug I can't buy Brightintosh due to the distributed app being in Sandbox mode. I downloaded Brightintosh from the Mac App Store

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please append the BrightIntosh Report that you can copy into your clipboard using the "Generate and copy report" button in the BrightIntosh settings window?

I tried to generate it, but it doesn't allow me to do it. Just asks for an Apple Sign In and then does nothing.

More info: I downloaded it from the Mac App Store on Tuesday. I'm trying to purchase it today because I really like it and the free trial is almost up.

I am very confident that the distributed binary itself is not the issue as other users and I are able to purchase the app without any issues through the production environment using this version of the app. I have to admit that I am very confused about this behavior. Could you please try to sign out of the App Store (App Store Menubar > Store > Sign out), restart you Mac and sign in again and then reopen BrightIntosh and try it again.

Hey @nabilfreeman, just checking in, I was wondering if you’ve had a chance to try those steps or if the issue is still persisting?

Yes! I was able to purchase after restarting my Mac. Love the app!

P.s. as some feedback - not sure if/what you can do with it…

I guess I was unable to generate that system report because of some sort of purchase information fetching step. Maybe see if there is anything related to that blocking the thread when generating a debug report.

I have no idea what could have caused this but it was a very strange Apple error seemingly meant only for developers.

So it might be worth pre-empting it happening again and being able to gather more information next time.

Just my 2c

Glad to hear that, thank you! You are right about the report generation. I will tweak it to be better prepared for similar issues. Sadly some obscure StoreKit issues pop up every few months and seem to be caused by some weird unique state of the user's system. Anyways, thanks for reaching out and sharing!
