New IP

Current IP is not active and not working when I try to install. Could you update the IP? Thanks.

cptsky avatar Jan 22 '17 17:01 cptsky

Installing trough IP doesn't work for me neither. Anyway, you can install the app from USB

Piaero avatar Jan 22 '17 23:01 Piaero

How can I install it from USB, is there any instructions? I saw this: "download the zip from 188.226.130.26/widgetlist.xml" but since IP is down, where can I find that zip?

cptsky avatar Jan 22 '17 23:01 cptsky

Download zip from releases. Put it on USB in folder userwidget. The stick needs to be formated in fat16 or 32. Check the issues in here and you'll get the instructions.

SOLUTION: Looks like IP is down and you can't install widgets from USB after certain firmware update

  1. You need to get apache server
  2. modify widgetlist.xml to match your IP and localisation. Also put the app zip in the folder
  3. update as you would normally do using your computer's IP

It worked out smoothly. Thanks!

I'm trying to install but can't find the place to download the .zip, where can I find it?

axt102 avatar Jan 26 '17 12:01 axt102

You can find it in the "releases" section: https://github.com/mkvd/smarttv-twitch/releases

axt102 avatar Jan 26 '17 12:01 axt102

I'm sorry CptSkyTR , I'm new too all this and not at all familiar with apache servers I'm trying to install but can't quite understand the steps. Would you mind to elaborate on them please? Thanks for the help

axt102 avatar Jan 26 '17 12:01 axt102

  1. Download "TwitchTV_3.5_America_20150904.zip" and "widgetlist.xml".
  2. Look what's you local IP address: http://www.helpfulpctools.com/HowToCheckYourLocalIP.php
  3. Open widgetlist.xml and modify it by writing your local IP address to this line: "http://192.168.1.150/TwitchTV_3.6_America_20160920.zip"
  4. Install an apache server: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M8wtDTk26w
  5. Put "TwitchTV_3.5_America_20150904.zip" and "widgetlist.xml" to "htdocs" folder in the server files.
  6. Open the server.
  7. Now you can use your computer's local IP to install the app to your TV.

Thank you so much!

@CptSkyTR

Sorry to bother you, but was hoping you could help me a bit... I've gone through the first 6 steps you mention in the comment above, and I was wondering if you could explain to a me (a new user) who has never gotten twitch to work on my TV how exactly you do step 7.

Thanks in advance

As in the tutorial in this repo. Activate develop account, put the IP, force sync. You just put the IP of your computer after you hosted the zip file via apache server

Piaero avatar Jan 27 '17 23:01 Piaero

You need to login as "develop" and use the local IP to install the app. Some useful videos:

I followed the steps, but does not seem like the apache server works, I dont get the page "It works!"..

I dont know what I'm doing wrong, what do you mean in step 6 by open the server?

z4pst4r avatar Jan 28 '17 21:01 z4pst4r

What tv you've got? Did you turn off firewall on the PC?

Piaero avatar Jan 28 '17 21:01 Piaero

Samsung UE55F8005

Now i fixed the apache server, but I wont run on port 80.. I have tried port 10080, as described in a guide somewhere, so it works well enough locally from my PC but does not seem to work from my TV.

z4pst4r avatar Jan 28 '17 21:01 z4pst4r

How do i open the server?

iRevoz avatar Feb 19 '17 04:02 iRevoz

You can use this IP, it's valid till end of April. 185.49.13.73

gkopec avatar Feb 27 '17 19:02 gkopec

Sweet thanks!! Worked perfectly for me today!!

z4pst4r avatar Feb 28 '17 19:02 z4pst4r

Hmm I have no sound on my app??

z4pst4r avatar Mar 03 '17 15:03 z4pst4r

Thanks @gkopec

KZN1 avatar Mar 04 '17 19:03 KZN1

Many thanks @gkopec, you are my favourite person of the month! Grzegorz (amazing name too, to me at least!) has made this whole thing a lot easier while the official repository is down so grab your opportunity too before this month runs out! I have sound and no other problems yet. Except a shitty WiFi signal ATM...

185.49.13.73 Still works thanks!

Snoeprol avatar Jun 29 '17 17:06 Snoeprol

i have a problem, i installed twitch, but i wanna install another app, but if i sync with other IP, twitch app gets deleted. is there some way to install more than one app?

murillohapitta avatar Jan 16 '18 00:01 murillohapitta

Search for SammyWidgets_v1.1 and run this on you pc. Its so much easier then installing a webserver. It did worked for great for me on UE46ES7000 but i think it will work on other series to.

On the tv follow the normal steps when you have a webserver installed. All the apps in the widget folder will be synced
