Turning off all Emoticons

Maybe I'm just a huge wet blanket but I hate emoticons, it'd be nice if there was just an easy way to turn them all off so I didn't have to see all that noise mucking up the text.

If that is the case, how about just displaying the message so it's not hidden altogether, just not display the image?

Is this really hard? Because it seems like it should be an easy option considering there's other options that hide messages. It's been open for 4 years.

I would also like this, and would also like the option to just completely hide messages if they use any of the non-twitch 3rd party emotes.
