Custom eject scenarios

Open davidkingham opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

I'd like to see the ability to create saveable custom eject scenarios with keyboard shortcuts. I have several external drives connected, and I don't always want to eject them all. I usually have one main disk that I want to keep but eject the rest. The GUI could simply be a list of drives with checkboxes indicating which drives should be ejected, which you can save as a preset, and then have that option in the menu of the menubar, as well as the option to set a keyboard shortcut to that preset.

What you are looking for partially already exists. You can toggle volumes by clicking them in Ejectify's menu. When disabled, Daily doesn't unmount it. This goes for automatic and manual unmounting (via Ejectify's menu).

I guess what you additionally need are keyboard shortcuts, right?

Thanks Niel, I do know that exists. The issue is sometimes I want to eject all disks, and other times I only want to eject all except for one certain disk. A simpler solution rather than creating a new GUI to create presets would be having a new option in the dropdown menu when you have something selected under Don't unmount these disks, so there would be Eject all External Disks Now and Eject all less xyz drive or something along those lines. Does that make any sense?

It does. I'll leave it as an open improvement to see if others would be interested in this, too.
