Spacing between search results
Please add an option (under Preferences) to change spacing between search results and sizes of other UI components (buttons, tabs, user shares tree, etc). Old Soulseek is better in this regard because search results are much more condensed, it is easier to compare folder contents of different users without scrolling back and forth. I am using 1920x1080 screen resolution and Nicotine seems to have a sligthly oversized user interface. I have been using Soulseek for ~15 years until now.
The GTK theme of your OS is used, you can change that easily on most systems.
Some fonts have a condensed proportion and you can specify a custom font size for the lists in Preferences > User Interface.
I am using Windows 10, I can't change anything. Changing a font size to smaller does not help, there is so much spacing around UI elements and padding inside UI elements.
Please post a screenshot illustrating the padding issue.
Too much spacing between search results and user shares. Tabs, status bar and buttons have too much padding inside, as if the UI was optimized for touch screens.
Please solve this by adding an option to adjust line spacing by pixel. The sizing and spacing of other UI elements could be configurable as in Gmail app (“Comfortable,” “Cozy” and “Compact”).
It is frustrating that Windows does not provide an easy way to apply apply a GTK theme. I do agree that it would be good to provide switching custom themes within N+ and/or editing theme CSS parameters.
