False positives

Open MarkEEaton opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

I have been using the 3x3 markers, but have been getting a lot of false positives. My assumption had been that the simpler markers would be easiest to recognize, and therefore less prone to false positives. But maybe I have that backwards? Maybe the 4x4 or 5x5 markers would yield fewer false positives, because they are more unique?

Please let me know if I have been thinking about this all wrong.

I did some more testing with the 4x4 markers, and I ended up with some false negatives (in other words, the marker not being recognized as a marker). So neither the 3x3 nor the 4x4 markers are proving very effective, for opposite reasons.

Are there other variables I should consider, like color contrast or type of paper?
