Playlist function not working

Expected Behavior
I tried to make a playlist out of a number of songs by clicking on the playlist button.
Actual Behavior
The loading bar came up and never left. I noticed that it created a playlist file in my drive, so I clicked on it and the loading bar did the same thing (see attached image).
Steps to Reproduce the Problem
- Click on playlist button
Specifications
- Browser: Chrome
- OS: Mac 10.12.6
Hey @SGS84 I;ve fixed this issue yesterday. Indeed there was an issue with .mp4 files. Sorry about that.
Hi, I just installed Music Player for Google Drive, and find that it cannot play an MP4 created by BoldBeast music recorder for Android. QuickTime on my Mac can play the file. I presume that the version of Music Player that I just installed includes the fix nicolasgarnier made in June.... (???)
An attempt to play the file evokes a message that says "Sorry! We are unable to play this song. More...", but there seems to be no more.
I'm using the Chrome browser on a Mac running OS X 10.10.5.
Yeah, join the club corefremantle. Many of us users have been complaining about this since the second week of Dec both on this forum and in the comments section in the Google Chrome store. Apparently, the site developer is MIA, or else this is a problem that can’t be corrected. Perhaps Google will come out with their own dedicated player designed exclusively for Google Drive.
Bugger!
Google just have to link Google Play Music so songs dont have to be re-uploaded and all is solved!! (probably harder than it seems).
You'd think there would be a big demand for a good quality cloud based music player.
cheers
Sam

I don’t know, I never checked it out. If I do notice that the Drive Player is corrected, I will post it here so that you will know. I will keep checking back from time to time but it has been three weeks already so I am starting to get pessimistic.
@corefremantle it appears to be working this morning for me, please give it a try and see if you have the same result.
Gave it a shot just now, no luck :/ Still working for you?
Know any developers who want to open up the project? :P Seriously thinking it would be a very successful app if someone put in a bit of effort.
It looks like the app doesn't have the correct permissions to create playlists this way. Digging into my Google account, Google Drive permissions for the app are:
- Add itself to Google Drive
- View and manage Google Drive files and folders that you have opened or created with this app
Creating a playlist from Drive itself works, I'm assuming because I explicitly opened with the driveplayer app.
Edit: Creating it works, but it the playlist is not saved correctly in Drive so I cannot reopen after creation
Response from API when attempting to create a playlist from the driveplayer website:

@corefremantle, I have noted limited improvement since last Monday. I am now able to set up and play files on the Drive Player for the first time in about two months but if I try to save them as a playlist, that is when I have problems. Also, I can't get my existing playlists to open up and play.
