MEMORY INIT ERROR: Obtaining SeLockMemoryPrivilege failied.

Open NoSubstitute opened this issue 7 years ago • 8 comments

Similar as commented here for legacy, but no suggested solutions fixes the problem. Running as admin, setting high swap. With this error comes MEMORY ALLOC FAILED: VirtualAlloc failed similar to this issue.

Do note that I haven't touched the advanced config settings of NHM2. Just running it as is. i7-6700K, 32 GB RAM, Nvidia 1070, Windows 10 Home.

I'm getting the same issue with the latest version of NHM2 (2.0.1.2) and am also running a GTX1070. Never had this issue before and sometimes it even gives me a BSoD img

Yes, I still have this problem.

I updated my graphics drivers using GeForce experience and it solved this issue, but now NiceHash can't finish benchmarks and my output is always at 0.0 BTC/s. Currently updating drivers again to see if that solves the problem.

EDIT: I just tried running benchmarks again to get a log, but it actually worked this time. I have no clue why, but at the very least my problems are solved

I've updated my drivers several times and it has never touched this error, and logically it shouldn't, since it's an error in CPU mining, not GPU mining.

I mean, if you're trying to mine with your GPU (which you really should be, you've got a 1070) then out-dated drivers would prevent NHM from seeing the GPU. Honestly, I don't see the value in CPU mining as it's far less efficient while still using max power consumption by the chip and cooling system.

I understand. So I should really stop CPU-mining?

NoSubstitute avatar Oct 21 '17 11:10 NoSubstitute

If you're making a reasonable profit I see no reason to stop, but in my case it'd make an extra 10-30 cents/day where my GPU would make $5 and they both consumed around the same amount of power (obviously the GPU used more, but it's not exactly the difference of GPU to RAM)

That being said, NiceHash should still support CPU mining and figure out this problem.
