looperator inspiration
The Sugar Bytes plugin Looperator has some overlap with BBCut. Both concern similar genres of music and have random automation features, but BBCut focuses on sequencing while Looperator focuses on effects. Quick listing of what Looperator has and how it compares to BBCut (source):
- slicing and reassembly (yes)
- reverse stutters (I think you can set pbsfunc to -1)
- envelope control (no)
- delay (no)
- tape stop (recently added!)
- distortion (no)
- tonal delay (yes)
- reverb (yes)
- vinyl scratch (no)
- time stretch (yes)
- phaser (no)
- LP and HP filters (no)
- vowel filter (no)
- MIDI control (no)
The missing features here that I covet the most are delay, distortion, phaser, LPF/HPF, and vowel filter. I think BBCut can push more in the direction of Looperator with fine algorithmic effects sequencing for a "different effects on every beat" sound.
