@davidhunter08 is the plan still to override the default widths at mobile?

Hi @jonhurrell there are no plans to change the width of Buttons on mobile. This issue was to add guidance as to why we do not use full width Buttons on mobile.

Have left a similar post over on https://github.com/nhsuk/nhsuk-service-manual-community-backlog/issues/7#issuecomment-1592862857 but to summarise it:

On 111 online we prefer full width buttons:

  • For consistency with nhs login and our old codebase
  • Because it looks neater (just an aesthetic opinion)

But we would yield if there was actual evidence that left aligned was better. Ideally not just opinions and anecdotes, but actual evidence. If we collectively decide there's already enough evidence, and it ends up as guidance, we would probably step in line and stop using full width buttons.
