As of today the installation instructions don´t work on a default Rasbian Jessie Image. It fails and throws a bunch of errors while running "npm install" - maybe it has to do with the node.js version.

Can anyone recommend a (ancient) raspberry distro where: a) a running shaircast version is already included b) that meets the prerequisites of this shaircast version

I believe there a lot of people out there that just want multiroom airplay from a default image.

please use a 0.10x version of nodejs as instructed here: https://github.com/nodesource/distributions/tree/master/deb

everything worked out for me with the above mentioned instructions :)
