yeah its sad, i really like it and use it for a year without issues
I just rolled it out with home assistant.
Just switch to wireguard-easy.
wireguard-easy looks okay if you can rely on their distribution. I like wireguard-ui because of its slightly more advanced networking and it is a self-contained single binary (easy repackaging). The complicated dependencies of wireguard-easy made repackaging a pain. I felt it was easier to modify this project with my own patches to bring it up to my standard of quality (I opened PRs for my patches).
At some point, I might just fork. But as long as my development patches don't conflict with each other I will keep opening PRs and applying Git commit based patches to my project.
If you're curious what I mean by slightly more advanced networking see these docs for the smart home addon (DMZ and isolated networks over VPN).

Might be a valid point. wg-easy is starting a docker container and it just works. It might be limited to the configuration, if you really need some specific/rare one.

wg-easy is developed to run in a docker container. So if you need to run it bare metal, yes that won't be possible or only with more work.

You might still take a look, a new wg-easy major version came out just a few weeks ago.
To be clear, I agree suggesting wg-easy instead of this seemingly dead project is preferable for most people. I developed my own patches for home assistant and for my specific use case it was a good path.
For sure could use updates- but in all fairness it works, and is the most auditable/trustable gui which runs anywhere.
