I've seen it in many projects also used it in a few personal projects, looks very useful. @nartc take a look at it. https://github.com/semantic-release/semantic-release

I have used Semantic Release before but I don't really like it. I want to have a bit of control of when to cut a new release and still have the ability to add to release notes.

We're using release-it right now and they do have automatic release. I'll take a look into that instead of Sematic Release. Thanks for raising the issue.
