Failed IMAP authorization when symbol "$" in the password
Steps to reproduce
- Try to login nextcloud with IMAP
- Your password must contain "$" symbol
Expected behaviour
Actual behaviour
Wrong username or password
Affected Authentication backend
Eg. FTP or IMAP or is it a general problem?

Operating system: Centos 7
Web server: nginx
Database: mariadb
PHP version: 7.3
Nextcloud version: 19.0.5
Updated from an older Nextcloud/ownCloud or fresh install:

Login as admin user into your Nextcloud and access
http://example.com/index.php/settings/integrity/failed
No errors have been found.

If you have access to your command line run e.g.:
sudo -u www-data php occ app:list
from within your Nextcloud installation folder

If you have access to your command line run e.g.:
sudo -u www-data php occ config:list system
from within your Nextcloud installation folder

Insert your config.php content here.
Make sure to remove all sensitive content such as passwords. (e.g. database password, passwordsalt, secret, smtp password, …)

The same applies to other special characters, like ß, %, ü, ä, ö, etc.
Using the same password for the imap login directly works fine. Gave me some headache in the past when users reported login issues.
Any update here? This issue causes support effort besides the reduced password strength.
