Issue with Safari

Open dougy86 opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Hi,

I have Safari version 14.0.2 on mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 which supports U2F devices (cf. https://www.yubico.com/works-with-yubikey/catalog/safari/), but whenever I try to authenticate I get the "U2F not supported" message.

This is not linked to my U2F key because it works with Firefox.

Can you please fix this problem ?

Regards,

Dougy

have you checked any of the existing tickets?

Yes.

In particular, in issue #168 there is a suggested procedure using https://github.com/Safari-FIDO-U2F/Safari-FIDO-U2F but I didn't try it as there shouldn't be any required changes in Safari because of native U2F support since version 13.

Also, in issue #168 nobody seems to confirm that it indeed works after your comment (https://github.com/nextcloud/twofactor_u2f/issues/168#issuecomment-432133667)

Have you confirmed that Safari works with other users ?

I found https://github.com/grantila/u2f-api/issues/26. And that Safari 13 support landed just 9d ago: https://github.com/grantila/u2f-api/commit/b87f1a7e62cfc3542fbad525a53ee64aad007c0e. Once the update lands in this repo, the next release can support Safari 13.
