in-word italic/bold only rendered in editing mode, not in view mode

Describe the bug frame*(work)* will be rendered correctly in Edit mode, so that (work) is italic, while 'frame' stays normal. But when going to View mode, frame*(work)* get's displayed instead.

Apparently here the problem is the same, so I can't really show a good example here.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Type frame*(work)*
2. Enter View mode
3. See bug

Edit mode	View mode

Expected behavior Render also in View mode

Ah, sorry for not mentioning, this happens in Collectives! I thought it is related to text in general, but if this is collectives specific I can reopen this issue there?
