German translation of the shift key name
Describe the bug
Not really a bug, but more a discussion:
Currently the translation for Shift
is Umschalttaste (Shift)
that is quite long and the part in the parentheses is parentheses.
The translation is only used for the keyboard shortcuts, so only the key name (Umschalt
or Umschalttaste
) would be enough.
Moreover this leads to this unreadable help modal on desktop:
We could also indicate with ⇧
which key that is. I suggested "Umschalttaste" now on https://www.transifex.com/nextcloud/nextcloud/translate/#de/text/342006665?q=text%3AShift
Nevertheless we should make the modal a bit more flexible depending on the content.

That sounds very nice! (I think people are more into visual then text (although textual representation should and must be there for accessibility)).

That is much better! Even if I would expect just Umschalt
(because there is also Strg
instead of Steuerung
or Steuerungstaste
) but that is just my personal taste.
Nevertheless we should make the modal a bit more flexible depending on the content.
Are you talking about the width? For me it is a bit odd to not use more space even if it is available (why I own a 16:9 screen if only a 4:3 area is used ;-) ), but it seems to be common on modern UIs.
This has been resolved in the meantime as Julius' suggestion to use "Umschalttaste" got accepted :tada:
