Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Trying to convert some Dokuwiki pages to NC collectives I'm missing the support for Footnotes.

There is an addon package for markdown-it: https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-footnote

but just adding this would of course not be enough. The editor and also the Collectives app would need to add some display and UI sugar to make the footnotes usable.
